N-GREEN Second Transnational Project Meeting

The partners of the N-GREEN project recently met for their Second Transnational Project Meeting to review the progress achieved so far and coordinate the next activities that will involve local communities across Italy, Spain and Denmark.

During the meeting, the partnership confirmed the completion of the English version of the N-GREEN Toolkit, a practical resource designed to support Civil Society Organisations, community workers and volunteers in developing neighbourhood-centred environmental sustainability initiatives. The translated versions of the Toolkit are now being finalised and will soon be available in the partners’ national languages.

A significant part of the meeting focused on the organisation of the upcoming N-GREEN Hackathons, which will take place between the end of September and the beginning of October in each partner country.

These local events will bring together representatives of Civil Society Organisations, volunteers, community workers and local practitioners to work collaboratively on real environmental challenges affecting their cities and neighbourhoods.

Using the N-GREEN Toolkit, participants will learn how to analyse local contexts, identify priorities, involve relevant stakeholders and co-design practical solutions that can be implemented within their communities. Rather than traditional training sessions, the Hackathons will combine learning with hands-on collaborative activities, allowing participants to transform ideas into realistic action plans.

The Hackathons will also provide an opportunity to test the Toolkit in real-life situations. Participants will be invited to share their feedback on its content and usability, helping the partnership further improve this important project result before its wider dissemination.

Looking ahead, the project will conclude with Community Engagement Forums, where the results of the Hackathons and the proposed neighbourhood initiatives will be presented to a wider audience, encouraging dialogue, participation and cooperation among local organisations and citizens.

With these next activities, N-GREEN continues its mission of supporting Civil Society Organisations in becoming key actors in the environmental transition, empowering local communities to design practical and participatory solutions for greener, more sustainable neighbourhoods.
